Dr. Jeffrey BloomFellowship-Trained Vitreoretinal Surgeon

Dr. Jeffrey M. Bloom is a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon who underwent advanced training at the Retina Institute of California. A former chief resident in ophthalmology, Dr. Bloom has received national recognition for his research, leadership, and commitment to patient care. He is passionate about advancing the field of retinal disease through innovation, academic contribution, and compassionate, evidence-based care for patients with complex vitreoretinal conditions.
Dr. Bloom offers comprehensive diagnosis and management of a wide range of retinal and vitreous disorders, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, and complex surgical cases. He uses the latest diagnostic technology and minimally invasive surgical techniques to ensure the best possible outcomes for his patients. His approach emphasizes personalized care, taking the time to thoroughly explain conditions and treatment options to help patients feel informed and empowered in their healthcare decisions.

I am Jeffrey Bloom, and:

- I am (was) an athlete who loves nutrition and personal fitness, notably lifting weights, snow skiing and basketball.
- I am a foodie who loves to travel to new cities to try the local cuisines and learn about the history of that culture.
- I am a baseball card and memorabilia collector who collects rare baseball and football cards and various sports memorabilia.
- I am a mentor for many within my community, including younger medical students.
- I am an entrepreneur who minored in entrepreneurship in college, helped start two companies in college, and co-founded the Society of Physician Entrepreneurs organization at my medical school.
